A Candlelit Vigil held in Poonch:
"We demand Justice for Kathua rape
Victim", Awake India.
Poonch: A Candle Light March was taken out in
Poonch under the banner of Awake India(NGO) led by Ayaz Mughal to protest
against the rape cases of Kathua and Unnao. The people from different
communities and sections of the society participated in the march and demanded
stingent against the rapists. The march commenced from prade ground chowk and
after moving through the city culminated at intial point. Several slogans were
raised in favour of the Kathua rape victim.

While speaking on the occasion, Ayaz Mughal,
Chairman Awake India said, "The frequent cases of rapes of minors in the
country are indication that our daughters are not safe. We expect that the
justice will be done as early as possible in Kathua rape rape case. And the
govt. should establish a fast track court to speed up the trial".
"Some people are trying to politicise and
communalise the issue for their vested interest. We warn them to refrain from
disturbing the Peaceful environment of the state", Mughal added.
Narinder Singh Khalsa, Paradhan while demanding the
justice to rape victim said, "
This is most condemnable act and blot in the face
of humanity. We demand speedy trial and death penalty to the rapists so
that strong message is conveyed to the world"
Maqbool Hussain, President Anjuman-e-Jafria
while addressing the people said, "it is very sensitive case and govt
should ensure the safety our daughters and severe punishment to the culprits,
whosoever they are."
Members of Awake India also demanded the capital
punishment to the rapist of minors. They have also sent a written
representation to the State and Central govt.

includes,: Narender Singh, Asad Chohan, Yasar Mughal, Pervez Ahmed Afridi, Umran
Kirmani, Asif Hussain, Rauf Bandey, M.S. Qazi and others.
